Veterinary Technician Veterinary Inpatient Care Nurse

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of an Inpatient Care veterinary nurse (vet tech) . The ideal candidate possesses the ability to effectively perform venipuncture, catheter placement &TPRs, and is able to multi-task and succeed in fast-paced environments.

* A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in veterinary medicine as a Nurse is required.

* Experience with surgery cases (knowledge of procedures and post-op care) is preferred.

Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

The schedule we are hiring for are: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 5am 3pm and Saturday 6am 4pm.

Daily responsibilities and job requirements:

• Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology and medications
• Understanding and ability to describe basic disease processes
• Monitor and care for non-critical patients
• Prepare and manage patient recovery from anesthesia
• Assist with inpatient diagnostics
• Proficient computer skills
• Communicate with clients and team members (verbally and written)
• Attention to detail and a calm demeanor required
• Ability to work independently at times, focus, prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, environment
• Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
