Veterinary Technician Triage Nurse

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Veterinary Nurse (vet tech)to support our Emergency Department as a Triage Nurse.

* A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in veterinary medicine as a Nurse is required.

Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

The schedule we are hiring for is Sunday - Wednesday2pm - 12am.

*For those without a year of experience, but with the education required and a passion to advance their skills, inquire about Metropolitan's Talent Management Program*

Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients :

• Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
• Sound understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
• Provide medical care to patients arriving at the emergency room by using sound technical skills
• Prioritize care based on critical nature and severity of patient's condition
• Support the treatment floor and emergency service by performing a variety of nursing tasks as assigned
• Assist physicians with examinations, emergency procedures, and treatments.
• Perform venipuncture, lab procedures and other diagnostics.
• Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
• Proficient computer skills
• Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
• Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
