Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include providing medical care in the Urgent Care Clinic, to residents in Community Living Center units, covering as a hospitalist, and responding to medical emergencies.

The Urgent Care Clinic is open from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday, holidays and Weekends from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The primary work schedule is a compressed schedule, typically working 40 hours over a 3-day period.

  • Provide outpatient care in the Urgent Care Clinic including treatment of patients presenting to urgent care, appropriate referrals, transfers to outside facilities, and admissions to acute medical unit
  • Admission and care of patients that are admitted to the facility on the acute medicine unit and the Community Living Center nursing home units
  • Participate in the teaching of medical students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students, and medical residents
  • Participate in medical staff decisions affecting patient care services
  • Manage complex diagnostic problems and difficult clinical management issues
